Changing corner shape for symmetrical turned parts

To prevent wrong orientation in assembly process, some turned parts such as pipes, collars or sleeves are designed symmetrically with radius corner on both inner hole as shown in the picture above, however producing ‘radius’ is sometimes difficult since it may have steps on inner hole surfaces.




Changing parts design to left side or right side identifiable as shown in the below picture and a side of inner hole corner to be chamfer, instead of radius on both side. It reduces machining costs.
